The Vibrations of Jasmine Essential Oil

Jasmine oil has a rich, warm, floral, tea-like vibration to its aroma; this popular oil is used in romantic fragrances, including Chanel No. 5, in alcohol, sweets, and dessert ingredients. The jasmine oil we carry is jasmine sambac, also known as Arabian jasmine, which is sweet, musky, and sultry, but there are other jasmine oils, such as grandiflorum with a softer, more floral, fresh, and green scent. Jasmines' vibration has been said to act as an aphrodisiac, while many use it for aromatherapy because it promotes relaxation.

Variations of Jasmines Vibration:

Jasmine oil come has a few different variations and can be used to create various types of vibrational impressions. These variations include:

  • Jasmine Sambac: has a strong and slightly fruity aroma

  • Jasmine Grandiflorum: has a sweet and rich aroma

  • Jasmine Auriculatum: has a sweet, floral, and slightly spicy aroma

  • Jasmine Absolute: has a distinctive, exotic floral aroma

  • Synthetic Jasmine: created with chemical compounds to mimic the scent of natural jasmine but less potent, complex, and long-lasting

Our Jasmine Absolute (Sambac), called Jasmine Sambac Essential Oil, is extracted from the tiny, delicate blossoms of the Jasminum sambac (Night-Blooming Jasmine) shrub growing in India. The vibrations of this oil are an incredibly floral, sensual, sweet, and tenacious aroma with a deep richness and a somewhat musky and coumarin-like undertone. Only a hint of this precious oil is needed to impart elegance, balance, and smoothness to perfume creations.

One of the significant aspects of Jasmine Sambac flowers is that they open at night to release their sensual scent. The delicate jasmine blossoms are handpicked at night or early morning before sunrise, yielding the highest essential oil concentration possible during distillation. The blossoms must be carefully harvested by hand not to bruise the flower, as bruised flowers will produce unpleasant fragrance notes in the absolute.
