Cold weather, fatigue, lack of sunshine can make us all feel tired, depressed and stressed. Aromatherapy can help you deal with all the little troubles that come with the winter as some essential oils soothe coughs or sore throats, others fight viruses and stimulate immunity. Use the right essential oil recommended by aromatherapists or use this list as a guide but make sure to be safe when using essential oils


Here are a list of essential to get you through the winter in complete serenity!




Peppermint

The best of the best for winter blues, I think, peppermint is definitely a pick me upper and helps fight off the winter tiredness. Supports headache and migraine relief and a fever reducer.


Ravintsara

Ravintsara oil is a powerful antiviral, immunity booster, and an antibacterial essential oil. This oil is very similar to Eucalyptus but very soothing and aids in supporting breathing especially during meditation.



Tea tree

Tea tree is a very good in general and has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal qualities, ideal for fighting dry and itchy skin and inflammation, but also great for a common winter problem, dandruff.


Clove

A very warming an invigorating essential oil which is great for grounding and relaxation, Clove is used for coughs. It acts as a natural expectorant and inhaling clove may clear the passage to your respiratory tract.



Eucalyptus

No one likes a blocked nose and Eucalyptus oil is a great essential oil that aids in clearing up your airways. Keep it on hand for the winter months as its great for fighting colds and head aches.


Thyme

Thyme is known for its antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties.

Great as a pick me upper so just put few drops in your diffuser to get your day going.


Lavender

The most popular and must have essential oil, lavender, is believed to treat anxiety, fungal infections, allergies, depression, insomnia, eczema, nausea.


Cinnamon

A cold weather must have because of its warming scent but cinnamon can be grounding and energizing. But Cinnamon can be stimulating to the immune system, alleviate digestive discomfort, stimulate the libido, help relieve occasional cold and flu symptoms, support healthy inflammation response, support healthy circulation.


Lemon

With its sweet, citrusy scent lemon essential oil has calming properties that can help you to relax your mind and the muscles in your throat which alleviates soar throats.


Scots pine

A potent respiratory antiseptic and active against bronchitis, scots pine is a great oil if you are very congested.
